Reservations

Salon & Spa services are available by appointment on a daily basis. We recommend calling as far in advance as possible to ensure availability.

Guest Cancellation Policy

We request the courtesy of a 48-hour cancellation notice for select services and packages. Cancellations or changes of less than 48 hours will be charged a 50% fee. Gift cards will be reduced to half value. Cancellations or changes of less than 24 hours or no shows will be charged a 100% fee.

Online Booking Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please kindly notify Design 1 at 616-301-1400 as soon as possible to reschedule. A fee of 40% of the service price may be charged if you cancel or change within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. If you miss your appointment without giving any prior notification, you may be charged a fee of up to 100% of the service price.

Spa Information

We request that you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. If you are a first-time client, a profile will need to be completed prior to your service. This allows us to provide personalized care for all our treatments, including our expert brow and lash services, ensuring the best possible experience tailored to your needs.

Late Arrivals

We regret that late arrivals will not receive an extension of scheduled times and will be responsible for full service fees.

Jewelry

For your comfort, many treatments require the removal of jewelry. It is our suggestion that you leave your valuables at home as we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Cell Phones

Out of consideration for Design 1 guests, please mute cell phones. Cell phone use is not permitted in the spa. Our front desk staff will assist you if needed.

Children/Minors

Minors are welcome for spa services with a prior signed waiver by a parent/legal guardian. Parent/legal guardian must be present in the treatment room for all spa services provided to minor. Childcare services are not provided. For the safety and the relaxation of our other guests, your children must be supervised by a responsible person.

Gratuity

Gratuity is not included in the price of services. Gratuities are left to your discretion and may be added to your cash, credit or debit card payment. An 18% gratuity will be automatically added to parties of 6 or more people.

Cancellation & Reservation Policies

Massage Cancellation Policy

To reserve a massage appointment, a credit card or gift card number is required on file. You will not be charged in advance, but please note:

  • Same-day changes or cancellations will be charged 40% of the scheduled service.
  • A valid credit card or gift card (covering the full service amount) must be on file to secure your appointment.

48-Hour Cancellation Policy for select services

We kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel any service.

  • Changes or cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a charge of 50% of the scheduled service.
  • Changes or cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged 100% of the scheduled service.

No charges are made up front, but a credit card or qualifying gift card is required to finalize your reservation.

This policy applies to:

  • Services totaling $250 or more
  • Appointments lasting 2.5 hours or longer
  • Bookings of three or more services scheduled on the same day

Once you have no-showed or canceled day of appointment:

  • A credit card will be required for all future bookings
  • 48-Hr Cancellation Policy will be applied for all of your future bookings

Bridal Party Cancellation Policy

To ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for your special day:

  • Please notify us of any changes or cancellations at least 14 days prior to your scheduled bridal appointments.
  • Cancellations or changes made within 14 days will be charged 100% of the scheduled services.
  • An 18% gratuity will automatically be applied at checkout for all bridal parties.
  • A credit card is required to secure your group’s appointments. No charges are made in advance unless discussed with you.

Commercial or Large Group Bookings

For parties of six or more guests or commercial group bookings:

  • The standard cancellation policy applies.
  • An 18% gratuity will be added to the final bill at checkout.

Deposits

Some services may require a deposit to reserve your time. If applicable, this will be clearly communicated during your consultation.
